Midwest-MO/KS/AR/OK/NE/IA

IBB Midwest adventure 2023?

I wish. Im lucky Im even invited. Lol.

She was not excited when I said the big trip can be our Honeymoon.
Whats the date? I was wanting to go to MAO for the Ultra 4 race in June as my bachelor party, but it's not going to work out.

I'll be at at randolph this coming sunday. I know its smack in the middle of a 3 day weekend.
There is a group of Toyota guys from Nebraska that are planning on being there also. I usually go with them. I have a gender reveal party to go to instead :shaking:

Which part? The group of Toyota guys or the gender reveal??:flipoff2:
Well I saw a couple toyotas there, talked with one guy. Stacy(in our group) knew him. I saw them that one time back on the south fence by the big hill climbs. we were going up and down them and they watched for a bit. one of the rides in our group had a dirt nap.....

The dates are set. I will release locations and sort of a schedule by this weekend.

IBB Midwest wheeling week will happen

October 8th through October 14th 2023.
FUUUCK

I'm in DC for work all that week.

See you on the 2024 trip.

Videos rarely do obstacles justice. When I'm shooting video, I've always tried to find a realistic angle to show just how steep/hard something is without going the "magazine photog" route (trees that are clearly tilted in the background to make it look more difficult). That video makes it look like a decently steep climb so I know the reality is much more difficult. I've been up it to the left of where your video shows in the Toyota (if I am remembering the trails correctly) and can confirm it's legit steep. I know the western "rock" guys probably don't think its that difficult as their rock actually has grip:laughing:
yes

that first ledge going up is a little steeper than the video lets on, then that loose bolder half way up

Last time I was there we were driving along the south fence line and went up a little side trail. The guy behind me cut a side wall on a piece of metal sticking out of the ground. Apparently it was a broken off t-post that said that small trail was closed because there was one of the round markers in the trail and they didn’t want it disturbed. The broken post was laying in the bushes beside the trail :shaking:

We flew into Montana this morning. Walking to our rental car I see two 4-runners, a Tacoma and a two door Jeep. I’m thinking we may be able to find some dirt roads on this trip. Nope, we ended up with a Chevy Malibu.

Thanks k'foo for working so hard on this, it's going to be a great time! :smokin:

:flipoff2::usa::flipoff2:

You are welcome. I hope it all works out. If it doesn’t then dang me, dang me, the otta take a rope and hang me.

i cant wait to see if my schedule will work out...

I hope it does.

Chevy Malibus can handle dirt roads.

I will put this up here for a few days before I make an Events thread.

Midwest Wheeling Week

10/8/23 Kansas Rocks. Mapleton, KS
10/9/23 Rush Springs. Pineville, MO
10/10-11/23 SMORR. Seymour, MO
10/12-13/23 Flat Nasty. Jadwin, MO
10/14/23 Moonlight Racing. Sullivan, MO

This has been a bit more work and time than I thought it would be.

Anyone from IBB is invited. Please dont share this on Facebook or Instagram we dont want their kind around here. Come for the whole week or just a day or two. It does not matter what you wheel. We will probably split into groups with equal vehicles. This isnt an official event just a trip for everyone to have fun. It will be kind of like UA except there are no sponsors, no big meals, no rules of who can or cant come or what you can wheel. But there will be trailers. We wont force you to highway your offroad rig unless you want to. If you do you will win all the internet points and we will all be proud of you. Run what you bring and pay your own way.

Here is a rough schedule. It can and probably will change as we go. Some times we have to be at a certain place at a certain time. Like SMORR, they are kind enough to let us wheel midweek but you all will need to be at the office at 9am on October 10 to get signed in and paid up.

I will post up websites for all the locations so you can get cabins or campsites rented ahead of time. SMORR is unable to rent cabins out midweek so we will have to use a campsite or stay in town at the hotel. They will have the bathroom and shower house available to us though.

Sunday 8am 10/8/23. Meet at Kansas Rocks. They said if we show up Saturday and camp they will give us a weekend discount. If you want to show up Saturday you can. Im not sure if I will show up Saturday or if I will wait for Sunday. They said camping season for them is over on 10/1 but if we bring a group they will let us camp.

Leave Krocks at 4pm closing time and head to Rush Springs.

Sunday 7:30-8pm Meet at Rush Springs to camp. That gives an hour to an hour and a half for you to get fuel and eat in between Krocks and Rush Springs. They have a lot of cabins available to rent. They also have bathroom/shower house available. You can get ahold of Lynette from their website to get a cabin by calling 479-202-4477. I think they end wheeling at midnight so you can wheel Sunday a little if you want or get ready to wheel Monday morning. Or you can get a motel along the way if you dont want to get a cabin or camp.

We will wheel Rush Springs on 10/9 and camp there a second night.

10/10 Leave Rush Springs at 5am if you want to stop for food and fuel or 6am if not. Don’t forget you have to be a SMORR at 9am on 10/10 or you dont get to wheel there.

10/10 9am or earlier Be at SMORR. Again, if you are not there at 9am on 10/10 you can watch us from the other side of the fence and cry till we leave.

10/10 wheel SMORR and camp there for the night

10/11 wheel SMORR and stay there for the night.

10/12? Here is where I want to hear from you. We can wheel SMORR again for the day or go on to Flat Nasty where we will be staying that night anyways. I want to let SMORR know by the end of June so post up what you think we should do.

10/12 Leave SMORR head to Flat Nasty

10/12 Get to Flat Nasty to wheel for the day or camp for the night depending on when we leave SMORR. I think they let you wheel 24/7 so we can do a night run if people want to. They have cabins for rent including a huge one that holds a bunch of people if you all want to get together and split you could save money.

10/13 wheel Flat Nasty and camp there again for the night.

10/14 leave Flat Nasty and head to Moonlight racing.
